Honoring her father

大卫·米. Paul wasn’t a UNH alumnus. But when the successful businessman and engineer retired to 新汉普郡 many years ago, he developed a great affinity for the University. When Paul died in May of 2012 at the age of 83, he left behind the 大卫·米. Paul Family Foundation. Charged with finding causes that would reflect and honor her father’s interests, his daughter knew at once that an athletic endowment at UNH would be on the list.

Contributing time, talent and treasure

Sherry and 鲍勃 Phillips’ time together as a couple only slightly exceeds the number of years they’ve been connected to their beloved University of 新汉普郡. The two met after signing on to work for a summer at the same country store near 鲍勃’s family’s vacation home in Ossipee, 新汉普郡.

Why the Holloways made a charitable bequest

When it first began in 1988, the 保罗J. Holloway Prize Competition, aimed at encouraging entrepreneurial passion and innovative ideas for businesses, had what would be considered standard business ideas: a plan to launch a babysitting service, an idea for a dog-walking business, 诸如此类.

Part of something positive

Walking among the UNH science buildings one day in 1980, 大一那年, Beth Bye noticed a little daycare center nestled in what was once known as Forest Park. Confident in her abilities to work with children from her days as a director of a camp back at home, she walked in the door, 找工作, 然后被录用了. And there a 40+-year career in Early Childhood Education was launched.

The perfect gift solution

George and Cathy decided they wanted to invest in UNH and found that a charitable gift annuity was the perfect solution. A charitable gift annuity at UNH provides fixed income for life in exchange for a gift of cash or stock. Gift annuities can be established to pay one or two people throughout their lifetime, which make them especially attractive arrangements for many individuals or married couples who seek additional income.

Supporting future Occupational Therapists

After Sandy passed away in 2017, Paul wanted to do something to pay tribute to the incredible mark she made in the field of Occupational Therapy in 新汉普郡. He established an endowed scholarship so the family could enjoy seeing Sandy’s legacy in action right away and, to ensure the fund lived on to benefit UNH OT students in perpetuity, Paul added a bequest commitment to the fund.

Keeping the Chemistry in Chemistry

Because of how those years in UNH Chemistry shaped their lives, 红桉 and Ed began donating to UNH early on, whatever they could, with their early career salaries. 一直, it has been critical to them to support the institution that led them to such incredible career opportunities—careers that gave them the financial means to give back. Though many charitable organizations have earned their support, UNH remains their first love for bringing them together and setting them on their paths.
